Stage Combat training with Fight 2 the Depth!

Lately I’ve been trying to expand some of my skillset and the Phoenix Theatre here in Indy has started offering stage combat certification classes! I’ve wanted to get more confident in my ability to execute a good stage fight, so this was the perfect opportunity!

Not only that, Scott Russell, aka Mr. Fight 2 the Depth himself, has done combat work on some projects I’ve done before, though not directly. He recently helped touch up the fight in “A Bold Stroke for a Husband” and was fight captain/director for the IndyShakes production of “Coriolanus” that I Assistant Stage Managed for.

I took 2 classes with Fight 2 the Depth and Phoenix Theatre, which were Unarmed and Broadsword. Both classes challenged me in the best ways while also allowing me to find the confidence in my body to feel intention through a stage fight. Happy to say I now have Introductory Certifications in both Unarmed and Broadsword Staged Combat!
